24 sheets of laser cut black matte board

130”x105” or according to the window dimensions

2022 -2023

An experience of the night sky transcends the studio space. The stars are those you shall see above the horizon on the day of the exhibition, and from the location of the particular building. I cut holes in matte board and installed them on the existing window in the space. The changing of natural light makes the experience different at any time of a day. During the day, it is lightened up by the sunshine from outside the window. During the night, the artificial lights in the room lighten up the piece, making it perceivable from streets outside the building. The two perspectives of observation address the limitation of our knowledge, that human’s explanation of the universe is circumscribed by what we have access to.
